2016年9月15日，美國FTC更新了熱水器的能效標簽法規。該法規的生效日期為2017年6月12日。

• 2017年6月12日以后，在美國生產或進口到美國的熱水器必須符合新的能效標簽法規要求，詳見16CFR305。

主要更新：

1. 標簽底部的相關語句修改如下：

• 對于Appendix D1-D3中涵蓋的儲熱式熱水器
  i. Your costs will depend on your utility rates and use.
  ii. [Cost range based only on models fueled by [natural gas, oil, propane, or electricity] with a [very small, low, medium, or large] first hour rating ([fewer than 18 gallons, 18–50.9 gallons, 51–74.9 gallons, or greater than 75 gallons]).
  iii. Estimated energy cost is based on a national average [electricity, natural gas, propane, or oil] cost of [___cents per kWh or $___per therm or gallon].
  iv. Estimated yearly energy use: ___ [kWh or therms].
  v. ftc.gov/energy.
• 對于即熱式熱水器（Appendix D4）
  i. Your costs will depend on your utility rates and use.
  ii. Cost range based only on models fueled by natural gas with a [very small, low, medium, or large] gallons per minute rating ([0 to 1.6, 1.7 to 2.7, 2.8 to 4.0, or greater than 4.0])
  iii. Estimated energy cost is based on a national average [natural gas, or propane] cost of [llcents per kWh or $llper therm or gallon].
  iv. Estimated yearly energy use: ___[kWh or therms].
  v. ftc.gov/energy.

2. 對于容量的標注要求修改如下

• 儲熱式熱水器的容量應標注額定容量和第一個小時額定值
• 即熱式熱水器應標注加侖/分鐘
